19. Etihad Airways – Formula 1
In 2009, Etihad Airways was proud to be the official sponsor of the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, so they decided to decorate one of their aircraft with the traditional colors of the race, red, black and white. Additionally, they painted the tail to look like a checkered flag.
20. The Airforce Is Strong
All Nippon Airways’ three Star Wars droid-decorated planes were certainly a hit! People are likely to take a flight with the airline after seeing the R2D2, BB-8 and C3PO-themed aircraft. Anything with the Star Wars logo tends to be attractive to customers, and who could resist the chance to soar on a plane with a Star Wars theme? We already have plans to experience it. Another airline will follow.
21. Big Plane, Big Cat
Rossiy Airlines and the Amur Tiger Center collaborated to build this extraordinary tribute to the resilient animal. The enormous Boeing 737 features a portrait of the Amur Tiger in exactly the spot you would expect. It took a great deal of paint to complete the project, demonstrating the enormity of the task. All of the painting was accomplished by hand.
